It has been a great pleasure to welcome into our church family Miriam’s son, Tonderau Tomu, who has moved to Impington from Zimbabwe. Where is home in Zimbabwe? Bulawayo How old are you? 18 How have you found living in England? It’s alright, I am getting used to it. It is a lot colder than I am used to and was very cold when I first arrived here in the UK! How long have you been a Christian? I have attended church as a child but became a Christian at a special meeting in 2002. Favourite food: Pizza! Favourite Television Show: Prison Break Tell us about your involvement in athletics: Last year I was in the Southern Region Championships in Africa where I won a bronze medal in the 200 metres medley relay for Zimbabwe. I also won 2 medals in 2005 and 3 medals in 2004 at the Zimbabwe Youth Games. Tom’s specialist events are the 100 metres, 200 meters and long jump. He can run the 100 metres in 10.73 seconds, 200 metres in 21.87 seconds and can jump 6.64 meters in the long jump! Tom runs for the Cambridge & Coleridge Athletics Clubs where he trains four nights a week. Recently he came second in a 150 meters race mixed with seniors and first place in the juniors race. What would you like to do in the future? Become a physiotherapist and take part in the 2012 Olympics! Please keep Tom in your prayers as he is trying to sort out his schooling.
