Dear Friends,

Happy Anniversary! This month, Histon Salvation Army Corps (Church) celebrates its 112th Anniversary. It is a moment to reflect on the part that The Salvation Army has played in the life of the community of Histon and Impington. We look back at the past, sometimes with much fondness over good times had and sometimes with relief over difficult times that have been overcome. Furthermore, we give thanks to God for the faithfulness of all those that have gone before us in building up this church.

In 2004, there is still much to thank God for what is happening now. The Salvation Army is making a difference in the community today, it is making a difference in the lives of people today and we thank all of you for you make this church what it is: a place where people can know Jesus and be welcomed into the family of God.

What does the future hold for Histon Salvation Army? What will be celebrated and reflected upon in years to come? Well that is down to us being faithful and obedient to God in the here and now and who knows just what God has in store. Whatever happens we can move forward in excitement and anticipation with God leading us.

Let us give thanks for the past for that has shaped this church to be what it is today. Let us give thanks for the present for all that God is doing now and shaping it to be. Let us give thanks for the future for all that God has yet to do with Histon Salvation Army.

Let us continue in our journey with God, just as the faithful servants of old did. Let us be ever more determined to build God’s Kingdom here in Histon and Impington. Let us continue to make God the centre and bedrock of our lives so that God can continue to use Histon Salvation Army to be a light of His love in our villages.
