Dear Friends, Have you ever wondered whether what you did mattered? Whether you were making a difference in this world? Maybe you have wondered at times what your purpose is in this life. Maybe you have even questioned whether you mattered to God or that He cared about you. Well, there was a time when I felt like all of the above. I never would have envisaged being an officer as part of the plan God has for my life. Yet, I thank God that it is part of His purpose for my life. I praise God there was a time in my life when I realized that I mattered to God. It was an important part of my decision to give my heart to Jesus for I realized that God really does love me, despite all my faults and shortcomings. I realized that God had a purpose for my life whatever that might be. Part of the Easter message is that we all matter to God. Each one of us is important whether we are young or old or somewhere in between. Each and every one of us matters to God – isn’t that amazing but true! God sent Jesus to this earth to show us how much we matter to Him, to in fact show us how much He loved us. (John 3:16). “For God so loved the world that He gave His One and only Son, Jesus Christ, that whoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” At Easter we give thanks to God for Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross so that we could be forgiven for our sins. We give thanks to God for Jesus’ rising alive from the grave to give us all a chance of everlasting life if we follow Him with all of our hearts. We give thanks to God at Easter for we can come to realize how much we matter to God and how much He loves us. Knowing that has transformed my life and I pray that is has changed yours too for we all do matter to God and He really does love you. May God bless you this Easter, Paul Wood Captain
