Dear Friends, I would like to start by saying thank you to you all for the welcome that you have shown to me. I am enjoying living in Waterbeach – it is such a contrast to Denmark Hill in London and I am beginning to feel very much at home here in Histon. I have almost survived 2 village Feasts and will be more prepared for next year now!! All I ask is that you continue to be patient with me while I learn all your names and begin to find my way about two villages! All through our lives we find ourselves facing periods where we are unsettled and our routines are disturbed. This is normal both within our personal lives and as a church. The building work is continuing and we now find ourselves entering a period of time where we will not be able to access the hall. This is only temporary; it is not forever and I am sure that when the building work is finally completed we will all be able to appreciate the differences that this period of change has brought. We may not be able to worship within our own hall but that does not mean that we can’t worship altogether. It will be a good time of fellowship and strengthening of the body of Christ as a whole as we join in worship with the Methodist Church for the next few weeks. There have been many changes here at Histon over the last few weeks but through it all God is still the same. He will never change and He promises to be with us always. Psalm 91:4 says, “He will shield you with His wings. He will shelter you with his feathers. His faithful promises are your armour and protection”. God loves each one of us and He never changes. That’s His promise to us. May God bless you Emma Knights Captain
