Dear Friends, Tommy Tenney writes in his book ‘Experiencing His Presence’ “Remember when passion re-enters the church; His presence comes back through the door as well…. It appears that God rests in an atmosphere of pure worship, praise and adoration. The Bible says He is enthroned in or inhabits the praises of His people.” We need to examine our hearts and make sure that we come to church for the right reason: that we want to meet God. As a church, we are extremely privileged with all that God has given to us in our building. We have the use of good equipment to further our worship, a comfortable church to worship in and a caring and loving congregation of friends. However, all this does not necessarily make a church pleasing to God, Tommy Tenney reminds us: “None of us can build a church building that is pretty enough to attract God.” God is not looking at the building we have and how well we keep it; He is looking to see what happens in it! Is it filled with passionate worship and fervent hearts, people seeking to experience more of God? As we thank God for all His blessings on the year just passed, may we make this new year one that Histon Salvation Army Church really experiences God and moves forward on it’s journey with the Lord. May God bless you in 2004! Louise Wood Captain
