Dear Friends, “Where am I going? Where do I fit in? I’ve got to be all – all that I can.” That was part of an advertising campaign for the United States Air Force a few years back. It was an advert aimed primarily at high school students as they contemplated what career to take in life. And yet the questions of what destination and a sense of belonging are still very much true today. This month we are setting ourselves a vision as a church to work towards – one in which we will know where we are going – one in which we will know where we fit in – one in which we want to be all that we can be for Jesus and the building of His church here in Histon and Impington. In recent weeks in our Sunday worship, we have been looking at how God has been building His Kingdom through a community of His people from the time of Abraham right up until today. God’s Word promises His blessings upon His people and as a church we can give thanks for the many blessings that we have seen happening in our church in recent months. I believe that it all stems from having a commitment to God’s Word and prayer and God has been blessing that commitment here in our church in many different ways. Hebrews 10:23 says: “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for God who promised is faithful.” As we look toward the future, let us hold tight to our hope in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. For in Jesus, He will lead us to where we are going, where we fit in and how we can be all we can be for His glory, honour and praise. May God bless you! May God bless our church! Paul Wood Captain
