Dear Friends

Last month was an important time for our church. It was important because being led by God, we have a vision that there will be 50 people worshipping regularly at Histon Salvation Army Church by the 31st December 2005. It is a vision that requires a step of faith but Jesus reminds us in Matthew 19:26, “With God all things are possible!”

It is now almost a year since the commencement of the Half Days of Prayer and the drawing up of the Mission Statement. Since that time, eight new people have joined our church family in Sunday worship and four more children have joined the JAM Club. It just goes to show what a difference prayer can make! In seeking to live out the mission statement, God has been at work in the life our church in wonderful ways.

As the period of Lent has now begun, this time is there to remind us of why this vision has been set before us. As Christians, we have experienced the joy of knowing Jesus as our Saviour. We are able to do this because of the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made on the Cross for the sins of mankind and that He rose from the dead and is alive today! God did this for us so that we might be forgiven and restored back into a relationship with God.

The Bible reminds us also that the incredible joy of knowing Jesus is to be shared with others (Matthew 28:16-20). That is why we have set the vision of 50 people worshipping regularly because we want others to know about Jesus – to find that same joy, forgiveness, restoration, and hope only found in our Lord. May God bless you. May God bless our church.
