Looking Past our Vision of 2005 PDF Print E-mail
What was the vision of 2005:

As a church, we will have 50 people
worshipping regularly on a Sunday
by the 31st December 2005.

As you come to Him, the living stone— rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to Him—you also like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:4-5

It was in February 2004 that the vision of 50 people worshipping regularly by the end of 2005 was launched. Part of following God is putting our faith in the LORD that this kind of vision can become a reality. Let’s just remind ourselves:

Where we were on the 1st January 2004?

· Average attendance of 25 attending Sunday morning worship
· 35 regular attendees in total for Sunday morning worship
· JAM Club had 2 members

This brings the total to 37 regular attendees on a Sunday at the start of 2004.

Where we were on the 31st December 2005?

· Average attendance of 33 attending Sunday morning worship
· 46 regular attendees in total for Sunday morning worship
· JAM Club has 9 regular members

This brings the total from 37 regular attendees on a Sunday to
55 people by the end of 2005!

THE VISION BECAME A REALITY!

THE NEW VISION:

By the end of 2010, we will have 100 people worshipping regularly at a new site for Histon Salvation Army Church.

To see the vision for 2010 become a reality, the following vision is set for 2006:

What is our vision for 2006?

By the end of the year we will have 60 people worshipping regularly on a Sunday.

As part of this goal of 60 people we desire that this growth include:

§ 3 young families to join our church
§ Increase from 5 to 10 musicians in the church
§ JAM Club attendance will increase to 12

LET US STEP OUT IN FAITH AND TRUST IN GOD.

As a church, we give thanks to God for all that He has done in our church these last two years, is doing now and will do in the future. We give God the glory, honour and praise for all things are possible with God.

The information above is taken from ‘The Vision’ brochure that was produced for the launch of the new vision of the church at the beginning of February.
