ASCA is the Anglia School of Christian Arts, which is held at Culford Boarding School near Bury St Edmunds. Dominic and I go every year for a week in the summer holidays. This year Tonderai joined us and other youngsters in the Division worshipping God. We got to choose which main option we wanted to praise God in. There were six different options which were brass, dance, vocal, drama, tekkie and sport. This year my choice was vocal. I really enjoyed it and the songs we sang were great. Our leader was Captain David Williamson. The year we sang a song called ‘The Voice of Hope’ and this was my favourite song as it really spoke to me and I really enjoyed learning the song. The evening activities were also very enjoyable. There were game nights which included everyone in teams. There was also a disco night, karaoke night and devotions which on that night everyone could feel God’s presence and felt so much closer to God. On Friday was the Final Festival Celebration, this was when people from the corps family and friends went to support the students. All the different main options took part by showing what they had learnt and enjoyed through the week. Every year we do songs as a school together and this year we sang ‘Here I am to Worship’ and ‘Lord, I come to You’. ASCA is amazing and I am definitely going again next year. The week unfortunately goes so fast but we have an awesome time.
