Dear Friends, This month sees Feast Week happening in our village and it certainly plans to be an exciting time. If you have purchased a Feast Programme you will see that there is a great deal happening. There is something for everyone which makes the week such a great event as it brings our village community together. We do wish to thank the Feast Committee for all the hard work they put in to make such a memorable week for Histon and Impington. Being part of a community is important in this day and age when it seems more people move around with different commitments and fewer generations of families remain in the same place. Many villages seem like commuter villages and we have to be careful to guard against losing that sense of togetherness that a community can bring. In the Bible we find what one community was like when we read in Acts 2:42-47 that the first Christians, “…devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, prayer… all the believers were together… gave to anyone as he had need….continued to meet together…. and the Lord added to their number daily”. It must have been a fantastic time to be part of such a wonderful community and it is the desire of many Christian churches today to have that same sense of togetherness and love for each other. As part of this church community, I hope you are encouraged to know you belong to a group of people who love God and love each other. Whilst we are not perfect (only Jesus is) we are together to which we thank the Lord for making possible. It serves to remind us what a joy it is knowing Jesus as Lord and to be part of this church family. I hope you all enjoy the Feast Week and may God bless you, Paul Wood Captain
