There was a good crowd who attended the
enthralling evening entitled: Cambridge: A Journey through Time.

This was an evening put together by our very own Fonz Chamberlain to take people on a journey of the history of Cambridge.

During the evening, Fonz took the audience on a timeline of important dates and events in Cambridge’s history giving us an insight on noteable people and places.  Hilary Jackson spoke about Elizabeth, Lady de Clare, the founder of Clare College in Cambridge who lived a very interesting life.  John Gannon spoke about the 60’s music scene, a time in which many famous bands such as the Beatles and the Who played in Cambridge.  Paul Siebold, read extracts from his book about local resident Major John Martin, ‘He who wears big boots’. 

What was clearly evident was the passion for history that all the speakers had.  It made for a very entertaining and
informative evening.

radio once a month.
