Dear Friends, As the election draws nearer, I wonder how you feel about voting? According to the news there will be a low turnout again and so I would urge you to go and make your vote count for it does make a difference. A huge price has been paid in the past to protect our freedoms and this includes our democratic right to vote. Some of the key campaign issues have been education, crime, health, pensions and asylum which the Bible has a lot to say about as well: Education – if everyone followed Jesus’ teachings the world would be a wonderful place! Crime – with the right education there would be less crime and the punishment for all our crimes (our sins) has been settled by Jesus’ death on the Cross – we can be forgiven and set free! Health & Pensions – if you want good spiritual health now and the guarantee of eternal life, then Jesus is the answer! Asylum – Jesus will not turn anyone away if they give their hearts to Him and accept Him as Lord – He is the answer! Perhaps Jesus said it best when He said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6) for the most important vote we will ever make, is who we vote to govern our hearts. Politicians and elections will come and go but Jesus will always be here so my prayer is that you make the right vote with your heart – vote for Jesus! If you would like to know more about becoming a Christian, please feel free to speak to Louise or myself or any church member. It is my prayer that you let Jesus be the Lord of your life for if you do you will have in Him, Someone who will supply all your needs, who will never let you down and who loves and cares for you like no other. Jesus – you can put your cross against His name! May God bless you. Paul Wood Captain
