Race for Life
Congratulations to Joanna Clayton who is taking part in the Race for Life on Sunday 2nd July. If you didn’t have chance to sponsor Joanna in raising money for Cancer Research UK, please feel free to pass on a donation to her.

Flower Festival
We hope you have chance to visit the Flower Festival at Histon Parish Church this year from Friday 30th June to Sunday 2nd July. There are a variety of wonderful displays and our churches’ display is based upon the theme of ‘Reflections on a Servant King.’ (please see picture on the front cover). Thanks to Beryl Gillson and Captain Louise for creating the display.

Church Home League Rally
Our Home League members will be holding their annual Rally this year on Tuesday 11th July at 2:30pm. The special guest speaker is Lieut-Colonel Patrica Howarth. All the local churches womens groups have been invited and our Home League Singers will be taking part.

JAM Club Sunday
On Sunday 16th July, the JAM Club will be leading our morning worship. The JAM Club members are an important part of our church so please do come and support the young people as they take part and receive their prizes. There will be a barbecue lunch afterwards to which everyone is welcome.

Holiday Club
The Holiday Club run by the Council of Churches for children aged 5 to 11 years takes place from 24th July to 28th July. The leader is Tim Blake and will be held at Histon Baptist Church. This promises to be an exciting week with over 200 children expected to attend.

Corps Council Meeting.
The next Corps Council meeting takes place on Thursday 20th July at 7:30pm. If you have any items that you would like to be raised at the meeting, please speak to a Corps Council member or Captains. The list of the Council members is available on the ‘Who’s Who’ noticeboard at the back of the church.

Retirement of Reverend Cynthia Hardiman
This month sees the retirement of Reverend Cynthia Hardiman, the minister of Histon Methodist Church. We would like to wish the very best for Rev Cynthia and her husband, Rev David, as they move to South Shields in retirement. Rev Cynthia has been a great witness for God and served our community well for the last five years and so will be much missed. Please keep them in your prayers and Rev Cynthia’s successor, Reverend Hilary Cheng, who will be taking up her position in September.

Council of Churches Ideas
There have been two ideas put forward to the Histon and Impington Council of Churches of activities we can do together.
Firstly, would there be a group of people from the churches interested in attending together an ordinary Sunday service at each of the other churches say 2-3 times a year in rotation, with a discussion meeting before and after?
Secondly, would anyone like to be part of a book group to read and discuss together books on topics concerning us as Christians?
If you would be interested in being involved, please speak to Captains.
